The Braidwood and Villages Business Chamber (BAVBC) is an incorporated not-for-profit association representing the collective business interests of Braidwood, its surrounding villages, and the broader region.

We take a balanced and considered approach, championing the long-term strategic growth and prosperity of our region while actively advocating on the day-to-day issues that matter to our local business community.

Our Purpose

Our aim is to foster a vibrant and resilient local economy that builds on the natural strengths of our region and aligns with the broader community’s vision for Braidwood and its surrounding areas.

Our Achievements

The BAVBC has developed strong and respectful relationships with local, state, and national government representatives, advocating on issues that matter to our members. Key campaigns have included support for Braidwood’s heritage listing, addressing the state of local infrastructure, and promoting careful and sympathetic regional development.

Key Achievements:

  • Secured Major Funding: We secured two major grants totaling $105,000, including funding for a Heritage Interpretation Plan with GML Heritage, with project completion planned for September 2026.
  • Government Engagement: We engaged with government representatives through meetings and correspondence to address road infrastructure, museum project issues, and QPRC contractor concerns, which are currently under review.
  • Community Bank Support: We obtained a $5,000 Community Bank grant to develop an online business directory.
  • Regional Collaboration: We strengthened regional collaboration by meeting with the Bungendore Business Chamber and coordinating shared lobbying efforts toward QPRC.
  • Operational Enhancement: We established a funded Chamber Business Coordinator role to improve operations, with a trial currently underway.
  • Small Business Advisory Participation: We actively participated in the Small Business Advisory Committee through Gavin Gillin.
